A5433: Long-Acting Lenacapavir and Cabotegravir in Low- and Middle-Income Countries

The current guidelines recommend that people living with HIV should take HIV medication, such as Tenofovir/Lamivudine/Dolutegravir (TLD), daily by mouth throughout their whole lives. This is important to keep the amount of the virus in the body well controlled so that they can live long, healthy lives. However, for many people, especially adolescents and postpartum women, taking pills every day is hard.

To find out whether tuberculosis (TB) can be treated safely within a shorter time using newer medicines and whether the new treatment works as well as, or better than, the standard 6-month TB treatment, and to look at whether these treatments are safe and effective for adolescents.

A5389: Two bNAb Combination for Acute HIV-1 Infection

This study will evaluate the combination of two experimental broadly neutralizing antibodies (bNAbs) in participants who started anti-HIV medications (also known as antiretroviral therapy, or “ART”) soon after acquiring HIV (acute infection) and have maintained control of HIV for at least 1 year while on ART. This study will also look at how well HIV is controlled after temporarily stopping ART at different times after receiving the experimental bNAbs.
