ACTG’s Partner Protections toolkit was developed by the ACTG Partner Protections Working Group (PPWG), a working group of the HIV Reservoirs and Viral Eradication (Cure) Transformative Science Group (TSG), in collaboration with the ACTG Behavioral Sciences Subcommittee (BSS). ACTG created the PPWG to help identify and/or create resources that could help research sites reduce the risk of unintended HIV transmission in HIV cure-related clinical trials involving analytical treatment interruptions (ATIs), controlled and closely monitored pauses of ART to evaluate the effects of an experimental treatment (intervention) that may help cure HIV.
