Performance Evaluation Committee

Printer-friendly version

The Performance Evaluation Committee's (PEC's) roles and responsibilities include site performance evaluation and evaluation of all key ACTG components. The PEC oversees and administers the ACTG’s performance evaluation program. Drawing insight and expertise from a membership that encompasses the network’s clinical research sites, specialty laboratories, network statistical, data management, and operations centers, and community representatives, the PEC develops performance measures and standards that are objective, relevant, and advance the network’s scientific agenda.

The PEC monitors performance through a continuous cycle of monthly reviews and formal interim and annual evaluations. Ongoing review and analysis of performance data allows the committee to identify potential issues, provide near real-time technical support and assistance, and make recommendations for process improvements to ensure clinical research sites and specialty laboratories meet the network’s goals and expectations for high-quality performance. The PEC provides recommendations to the Executive Committee on the overall performance of all key elements of the ACTG to ensure efficient development, implementation, execution, and completion of clinical trials and the publication of trial results.
